Start your morning off with an hour of gentle yoga. The class is friendly and accessible to all levels. Join Shavaun Evans for a one-hour gentle yoga session to help you refresh and reset for the day ahead. Shavaun will guide students through a grounding practice that connects gentle movement with breathwork and meditation, inviting you to release tension, connect with your breath, and find relief in the body and mind. The class is beginner-friendly and accessible to all levels of students. Instructor Shavaun Evans is a Hatha, Yin, and Vinyasa yoga instructor. She began practicing yoga in 2012 with a small group class in her DC community. After sharing practice together, students shared conversation and a vegetarian meal together, helping Shavaun see the possibilities for creating community around the mat. In 2017, she enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training in her hometown of Louisville and soon began teaching to her family, friends, and neighbors, reminding her of the powerful healing and community-building possibilities of yoga and meditation. She leads online Yin classes with the Black-owned streaming platform Yoga Green Book, in-person Slow Flow Vinyasa at The Inner Warrior studio, and has led classes for community organizations including Play Cousins Collective, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, the Louisville Community Grocery, Nurture the West, and many more. Shavaun has been featured in the national publications 50 Black Owned Yoga Studios & Yogis You Can Support Right Now and 21 Black Yoga Teachers with Online Classes in 2021.

Join an introductory meditation experience utilizing sound as the modality to calm and soothe the mind and body. The session will feature mindfulness centering, guided meditation accompanied by the playing of Himalayan Crystal bowls, gentle recentering and unguided sound immersion. The goal is to have you leave the class feeling a deep sense of relaxation for the mind and body that will propel you in your daily journey to move lighter and think brighter.
